HOME BODY DOCUMENTARY
A walking documentary on the body, belonging, and the search for home
Our body is where life begins - we sense and move before we know we exist. Shaped by the world and shaping it in return, we grow into an intimate embrace with our surroundings. Yet in a culture caught in dreams of control, perfection, and endless growth, the body’s vulnerability - being our source of aliveness - has been cast as an obstacle, something to manage or overcome.
Pushing past the ground that holds us, we risk losing that in which we are home, which gives us a world at all!
In a time of speed and disconnection, we take one step at a time. We walk following a long-distance path from Germany to Portugal, carrying only a camera, a black cloth, and a question.
With the void between each step, we soften our gaze and open to the senses, where all experience is born, using each step as an inquiry into how we inhabit our bodies.
Along the way, we meet people from all walks of life, asking how they relate to their body, collecting words, gazes, gestures, symbols, and movements - not just of where we belong, but how we belong.
This film is a gentle yet firm reminder: the body is not just the vehicle through life, but the very source of life itself. Our experience of depth, meaning, and connection to the world reaching only as far as our inner relationship with the body, the very ground that gives us a world at all.
